A invenção se refere a pós com pré-liga úteis para a fabricação de ferramentas de diamante ligado a metal. Um processo para a síntese de tais pós é apresentado, caracterizado pelo fato de que pelo menos uma maior parte do fósforo é introduzida adicionando-se uma solução aquosa de um sal de fósforo a um ou mais dos compostos que contêm metal. The invention relates to prealloyed powders useful for the manufacture of metal bonded diamond tools. A process for the synthesis of such powders is presented, characterized in that at least a major part of the phosphorus is introduced by adding an aqueous solution of a phosphorus salt to one or more of the metal-containing compounds. The powder may have a low cobalt content, or even be cobalt free, and still remain suitable for producing diamond-loaded segments that have hardness and bending characteristics that approach or exceed those of cobalt.
