a presente divulgação se refere a sistemas e métodos para tratar formações subterrâneas. uma modalidade da presente divulgação é um método compreendendo: introduzir um fluido compreendendo um fluido de base aquoso e um redutor de atrito num furo de poço penetrando pelo menos uma porção de uma formação subterrânea a uma pressão suficiente para criar ou intensificar uma ou mais fraturas dentro da formação subterrânea; recuperar pelo menos uma porção do fluido do furo de poço; adicionar um agente reativo a uma amostra da porção do fluido que foi recuperada do furo de poço, em que o agente reativo reage com o redutor de atrito para formar um composto fotodetectável na amostra; medir uma absorbância de luz da amostra do fluido que foi recuperado do furo de poço a um comprimento de onda selecionado de luz; e usar a absorbância medida e uma curva de calibração para o comprimento de onda selecionado de luz para determinar a concentração do redutor de atrito no fluido que foi recuperado do furo de poço.
