Abstract
a presente invenção refere-se a um esquema para gerenciar largura de banda em um ambiente multicliente, incluindo um ou mais clientes abr e, opcionalmente, um ou mais clientes não-abr. quando um cliente abr entra em uma fase de espera de seu ciclo de obrigação, sinais fantasmas podem ser emitidos para simular a capacidade total do link de rede, onde os pacotes fantasmas são usados para o cálculo da largura de banda abr. qualquer largura de banda extra que teria sido usada por outro cliente abr para inflar artificialmente sua qualidade de vídeo pode ser opcionalmente alocada a um cliente não-abr envolvido em uma sessão de transferência progressiva na mesma linha de largura de banda.
