Abstract
APARELHO MAGNETOSTRITIVO E MÉTODO PARA DETERMINAR A POSIÇÃO DE UMA FERRAMENTA EM UM FURO DE POÇO. A presente invenção se refere a um sistema, método e aparelho para controlar uma operação de fundo de poço. The present invention relates to a system, method and apparatus for controlling a downhole operation. A tool is operated to perform the downhole operation at a selected downhole location using a first value of a tool operation parameter. A magnetostrictive position sensor is used to determine a relative position along a section of a wellbore relative to the operation that is performed using the first value of the operating parameter. The determined relative position is compared to a selected threshold. The operating parameter changes to a second value based on comparing the relative position to the selected threshold.
