Abstract

The method includes receiving an explicit path type (tlv) extension value (ep) via a link state routing protocol, executing a shorter path algorithm to obtain a shorter path for lost transpositions of a path identified by the ep tlv, the shortest path to be a primary path, updating a network graph to suppress primary path links or predisposing primary path links, and calculating a reserve path using the shortest path algorithm in the updated network graph.
