Abstract
FIBRAS MODIFICADAS DE ÁCIDO POLILÁTICO. É fornecida uma fibra multi-componente que inclui um componente central cercado por um componente de revestimento distinto. O componente central é formado principalmente por ácido polilático e o componente de revestimento é formado principalmente por um aditivo endurecedor polimérico. A configuração do revestimento/núcleo pode fornecer uma variedade de benefícios diferentes para a fibra resultante. Por exemplo, o aditivo endurecedor polimérico pode ajudar a aumentar a habilidade da fibra em absorver energia que chega da tensão aplicada durante o estiramento da fibra, o que aumenta a dureza e a força total da fibra. Ao mesmo tempo, a presença do aditivo de endurecimento no componente de revestimento pode melhorar o grau de ligação a outras fibras (mesmas ou diferentes), da mesma forma que quando é empregado em um material de manta não tecida. Outro benefício da presente invenção é que a configuração do revestimento/núcleo pode ser formado por um composto termoplástico, em que o ácido polilático e o aditivo endurecedor polimérico são fundidos.
