Abstract
APARELHO E MÉTODO PARA SEPARAR UM TEOR DE HIDROCARBONETO DE UMA MATRIZ DE MATERIAL. Um aparelho para separar um teor de hidrocarboneto de uma matriz de material que compreende o teor de hidrocarboneto e um teor de água, o aparelho compreendendo: um alimentador de material arranjado para alimentar material através de uma câmara de tratamento, a câmara de tratamento compreendendo uma janela que é substancialmente transparente a micro-ondas; um emissor de micro-onda arranjado em uso para expor material de alimentação na câmara de tratamento a micro-ondas via a janela a fim de provocar aquecimento rápido de pelo menos parte do teor de água da matriz para formar vapor d'água, de modo a remover pelo menos parte do teor de hidrocarboneto da matriz; em que o alimentador de material e câmara de tratamento são arranjados de modo que em uso, a câmara de tratamento é substancialmente cheia com matriz de material.APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING A HYDROCARBON CONTENT FROM A MATERIAL MATRIX. An apparatus for separating a hydrocarbon content from a material matrix comprising the hydrocarbon content and a water content, the apparatus comprising: a material feeder arranged to feed material through a treatment chamber, the treatment chamber comprising a window that is substantially microwave transparent; a microwave emitter arranged in use to expose feed material in the treatment chamber to microwaves via the window to cause rapid heating of at least part of the water content of the matrix to form water vapour, so removing at least part of the hydrocarbon content of the matrix; wherein the material feeder and treatment chamber are arranged so that in use, the treatment chamber is substantially filled with matrix material.
