Abstract
um processo apara recuperar valores de alumina a partir de uma soluçao de aluminato cáustico é divulgado. o processo compreende as estapas de: a) introduzir uma fonte de dióxido de carbono numa soluçao de aluminato para formar uma primeira corrente tratada compreendendo íons carbonato em solução e hidróxido de alumímio em forma sólida; b) submeter a primeira corrente tratada da etapa a) à separação sólida/líquida para recuperar valores de alumina na forma de hidróxido de alumínio e produzir uma primeira corrente tratada clarificada; e c) misturar a primeira corrente tratada clarificada da etapa b) com aluminato tricálcio para formar uma segunda corrente tratada compreendendo carbonato de cálcio em forma sólida, íons aluminato em solução e íons hidróxilos em solução.A process for recovering alumina values from a caustic aluminate solution is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of: (a) introducing a carbon dioxide source into an aluminate solution to form a first treated stream comprising carbonate ions in solution and solid aluminum hydroxide; b) subjecting the first treated stream from step a) to solid / liquid separation to recover alumina values in the form of aluminum hydroxide and producing a clarified first treated stream; and c) mixing the first clarified treated stream from step b) with tricalcium aluminate to form a second treated stream comprising solid calcium carbonate, aluminate ions in solution and hydroxyl ions in solution.
