The present invention deals with the composition and preparation process of cosmetic formulations (shampoo and conditioner) containing Aloe vera gel powder as an active ingredient. Obtaining a product with potential benefits on hair in repairing the state of the cuticle, anti-frizz effect, increased hair shine, decreased hair loss and scalp peeling.
[002] Atualmente, as formulações de xampu e condicionador que possuem a Aloe vera em suas composições utilizam o gel, presente em suas folhas, na forma líquida como apresentado nas patentes PI0803143- 6, BR102014030307-3, MX2013007387, PI0801717, CN107811948 e CN105997551, ou o seu extrato glicólico como nas patentes PI0803148-7 e PI0802037-0.[002] Currently, shampoo and conditioner formulations that have Aloe vera in their compositions use the gel, present in their leaves, in liquid form as presented in patents PI0803143-6, BR102014030307-3, MX2013007387, PI0801717, CN107811948 and CN105997551 , or its glycolic extract as in patents PI0803148-7 and PI0802037-0.
É tendência mundial adicionar extratos vegetais a estas formulações podendo tornálas mais eficazes e menos agressivas.[003] The shampoos are cosmetic formulations designed to remove dirt and clean the scalp, it is important that this cleaning occurs without damaging the hair and/or causing dryness. And conditioners are formulations used after shampooing, and are basically formed by an oil phase and an aqueous phase that are heated and emulsified. They have cationic surfactants in their composition that condition the strands by adhering to the surface of the hair fiber, and when well formulated can improve the shine, softness and malleability of the strands. It is a global trend to add plant extracts to these formulations, making them more effective and less aggressive.
It is also known that Aloe vera is a plant extract that works by reconditioning and moisturizing the hair, in addition to being used in the treatment of some disorders and diseases of the scalp. Furthermore, it is known that the powder obtained after drying has its centesimal composition superior to the Aloe vera gel in natura. Given the above, the present invention was developed where Aloe vera gel powder was used as a new cosmetic active, developing a composition and a preparation process adapted to it.
This invention can be better understood through the description of its composition and the preparation process, as indicated below.
The Aloe vera gel powder used in these formulations was obtained by the foam layer drying method, according to the procedure described in patent deposit number BR102017024967, using the drying conditions: stirring time from 3 to 6 minutes, drying temperature between 50 to 70°C and concentration of 2.5 to 5% of the sparkling powder from the juá bark.
[007] O juá (Ziziphusjoazeiro) utilizado como agente espumante para a secagem do gel, embora presente em menor quantidade, também atribui benefícios à composição das formulações, visto que na literatura é conhecido seu emprego em formulações anticaspa e, devido à sua grande quantidade de saponina, o mesmo possui um grande poder espumante.[007] Juá (Ziziphusjoazeiro) used as a foaming agent for drying the gel, although present in a smaller amount, also attributes benefits to the composition of the formulations, since its use in antidandruff formulations is known in the literature and, due to its large amount of saponin, it has a great foaming power.
The use of Aloe vera gel powder in the formulation required a specific procedure, different from those conventionally used. The incorporation of powdered Aloe vera gel in the shampoo and conditioner cosmetic formulation required the incorporation of wetting agents at a concentration between 0.1 and 1.5 g (w/w) and solubilizers between 0.1 and 1.0 g (w/w). p) and stirring around 1000 RPM for a better homogenization of the formulation obtained from the shampoo and conditioner containing the powdered Aloe vera gel.
Initially, the product (shampoo and conditioner) was applied on the back of the hands, the region chosen for the application of the test, as it is a place that does not impact the health of the volunteer and any possible local irritation would be observed with greater visual ease. This previous test on the back of the hand of the volunteers promoted greater safety in the use of the product under study.
[014] Os resultados obtidos da análise sensorial do xampu e condicionador contendo o gel de Aloe vera em pó estão descritos a seguir.[014] The results obtained from the sensory analysis of the shampoo and conditioner containing the powdered Aloe vera gel are described below.
From these results, it was possible to observe that most volunteers approved the items appearance, color, fragrance, foam volume, foam creaminess, dry combing, wet combing, shine, softness, oil reduction, decrease in peeling, improving the condition of the hair and helping to treat hair loss. Although there is a difference in results regarding the attitude of purchase, there was no record of rejection of the shampoo and conditioner products, showing the acceptance of the proposed formulations containing the powdered Aloe vera gel.
In addition to the evaluation by the volunteers, a streak test was performed divided into combability test (measuring dry and wet combability), and gloss analysis. Comparing the developed formulations with one not containing the powder, called control, and with one commercialized in the market. Five locks with an average weight of 8.56 g were selected. The locks were purchased from the Baldoni Doll Industry and Trade, they were natural and virgin and had a brown color, with some white threads. It can be seen that the shampoo and conditioner containing the powdered Aloe vera gel promoted excellent combability of the locks both wet and dry in relation to the shampoo and conditioner that did not contain the powdered Aloe vera gel. After washing, the locks showed better alignment of the strands and a decrease in frizz was observed.
The gloss analysis was done before and after washing to verify the effectiveness of the product in improving the shine of hair. The equipment called Glossymeter GL-200 (Courage-Khazaka) was used, where the brightness is measured by light reflection. The reading was taken by touching the measuring probe to the locks. Increases in reflectance and consequently in brightness were only observed for the samples of the formulation containing the powdered Aloe vera gel and for the commercial reference product. No increase in brightness was observed for the control formulation, which shows that the aloe powder provides properties that act to increase the brightness of the hair fiber.
