IMPROVED AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR DISPENSING DRINKS AT SALES POINTS

FIELD OF THE INVENTION [001] The present application for a patent refers to an improved automated system for dispensing beverages at points of sale, with the invention focusing on the segment of beverages in general, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to be marketed indoors or outdoors; whereas the technology employed is a mixture of mechatronic engineering and information technology.

BRIEF SUMMARY [002] In particular, the invention contemplates a differentiated way of selling drinks, mainly draft beer, beer and wines, as well as non-alcoholic drinks. Through the invention, bars, restaurants, breweries, events, stadiums and other types of establishments carry out the operation without the presence of attendants, even outside the regular opening hours, through technology that automates various processes.

[003] According to the invention, the entire purchase and consumption process is guided by televisions, tablets and signs at points of sale, in order to guide the consumer in choosing the type of drink and the desired volume among the options offered; also, it can serve the indicated glass to the chosen volume, as well as the fitting of these glasses for later filling, this being a differentiating feature, since it automates not only the volume of the drink but also the provision of the 'collar', in the case of draft beer, for example.

[004] On the other hand, the establishment that uses this technology receives important information about the consumer's profile, preferences and stock control, making it possible to outline more assertive strategies, meet the needs of the target audience and, consequently, increase its revenue.

STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE [005] In terms of patent technology, we cite the document CN104887242, published on 08/26/2015, which describes an invention belonging to the technical field

The invention also precisely controls the flow rate of the liquid, which is a significant influence on the delivery of good quality beer, lager, cider and other drinks; the invention also includes a mechanism for measuring liquid flow. [009] The wine dispensing machine is characterized by also comprising a computer, a card swipe machine connected to the computer, a data collection machine connected to the computer, a relay driver used to drive the electromagnetism sockets and connected to the data collection machine and a human machine input device connected to the computer. The computer is used to handle information. After reading the information from the card swipe machine, the electromagnetism sockets are opened or closed by means of the data collection machine, based on the information entered by the human machine data entry device.

[010] Most of the state-of-the-art documents have some technical resources, such as proposing a machine to dispense a drink, such as wine or beer, for example, through means that include payments oriented via information technology, intended for these machines to public places and the supply in different volumes, sometimes making use of reading and traffic information resources to release the drink.

[012] Although some of the patent documents mentioned have conditions for automation, differences still persist in relation to the patent application in question, particularly with regard to the dispensation of the drink itself, including the 'collar' appreciated by many.

[014] For clarification, the company Mytapp, as well as Pour my Beer Brasil, and other companies that have been acting in the marketing of drinks through a self-service system, in Brazil or abroad, apply the technology in a unique way .

[015] According to this technology, the consumer must purchase a prepaid RFID card at the cash register, with one of the attendants, in the amount he wishes. The system has a tablet to interact with the consumer, providing information such as the logo, brewery name, beer name, type (style) of the beer, origin, brief description, in addition to the price (R $ / 100ml),% of alcohol content and bitterness.

[016] To consume, the user of the system must approach his RFID card at the indicated location to release the liquid (draft beer) and thus pull the tap to start serving. The proposal is geared to events, in which special cups with small magnets are filled underneath, with emphasis on the 'collar' control. However, like the other proposals, the equipment is operated by two employees of the service provider, which can make the service more expensive, as well as the value of special glasses. Furthermore, due to the fragility of the system, it could not be operated in any type of event, such as those for hundreds of thousands of people.

PROBLEMS INHERENT TO THE STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE [018] The inventions applied so far in the self-service of beverages, are partially automated and require labor in parts of the process, either in the sale of RFID cards, or in the handling of the equipment, as is the case of the cups that fill up underneath.

[019] The current solutions also do not allow the sale of drinks outside the regular opening hours of the establishments, that is, the solutions are limited.

[020] The present invention proposes the commercialization of drinks full time (24 hours) and, being modular, it can be produced in different materials and serve different segments, such as closed or open events of different sizes, bars, nightclubs , restaurants, hotels, breweries and many other applications.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION [021] The objective of the invention is to associate some characteristics that, sometimes, can be found in isolation at certain points of sale, but without achieving the advantages resulting from the combination of procedures brought about by the invention.

[022] That is, the present invention makes it possible to sell drinks practically anywhere and at any time of the day in a simple, attractive way and without the help of any employee. The system only requires labor to replace the barrels.

6/18 [023] On the other hand, because it is modular, the object of the invention is extremely flexible, both in terms of quantity and in terms of application, unlike other systems on the market, which are dedicated to events / meetings or applications for interiors of establishments, such as bars, restaurants, etc.

[024] The system of the present invention was developed for external or internal areas, concerned with the issue of security, anti-vandalism resistance, ease of use and design, not requiring any user skills, as the service is fully automated, different of the market systems mentioned, in which the user needs to regulate the filling by controlling the tap and the 'collar'. Another advantage related to modularity is that the system can also adapt to the size of the public, making it possible to fit as many terminals as needed quickly, whether in stadiums, hotels, beer events, bars or any other environments that offer the minimum support.

ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION [025] In addition to those evident from the previous description, the following advantages can be presented:

- possibility of filling the cup without the user having to adjust the tap and the 'collar', these operations being automatic from the associated resources of the base of the cup tray, where the machine already stipulates the angle of the cup in the correct position and at the same time time measures the volume of filling by weight;

- flow control and 'collar', in the case of draft beer, made by means of a solenoid valve that interacts with the load cell and controls the filling;

- flexible distribution channels associated with the delivery of a high-quality, reliable, standardized, simple and low-cost service, allowing you to increase customer service time and generate greater profitability for breweries, bars, restaurants and similar establishments, in addition to event promoters;

- use of smartphones for the purchase of drinks, since the machines require the consumer to carry out the entire purchase process on the machine itself. This avoids queues, delays and complaints from impatient consumers;

- use of a “cloud infrastructure’ ’where all data is updated and synchronized at all times;

- possibility of using several forms of payment. Thus, consumers who do not feel safe using credit cards on their smartphones or on third-party machines will have more options;

- innovation in the user interface, using a touch-sensitive interface and with the same security logic existing in ATMs;

- innovation in the circuit responsible for detecting the level of drink released in the glass;

- simplification of the way in which cups (C1) are released to the consumer.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [026] The present invention essentially comprises a concept of commercialization of the drink, in which the form of acquisition changes, which can be done in a kiosk (totem) or via an application installed on the smartphone or consumer tablet, which generates a ticket, card or any means to collect the drink in the aforementioned drink dispensing module.

[027] The drink dispensing module consists of a prismatic geometric structure, on the front of which is provided a TV module, a display, cup feeders, a side table, control panel and a tray, on which the dish with serving system is available.

[028] The rear part of the module provides access to its interior for maintenance, while internally, an exhaust system, a cup holder communicating with the cup feeder, a drink barrel (in the example shown, beer), placed on a cooler positioned above a pallet, still configuring a pipe, a CO2 container and the filling nozzle.

[029] It also includes the module of the referred system, internally, a barcode reader and, externally, a keyboard for eventual communication.

[030] The invention has particular prominence in the load cell filling system with central single nozzle for at least three different sizes of

8/18 cups. This system determines the exact inclination of the glass, and has a fall arrest device to generate total safety in the filling, without the need for manual contact. [031] Regarding the purchase and service system, it is quite simple and must be done in kiosks (totems), as follows:

- Choice of the purchase channel (application, website or tablet at the point of sale);

- Choice of drink, glass volume (300, 500 and 700 ml) and quantity;

- CPF insertion, date of birth, cell phone, payment method (credit card, debit card, paypal, bitcoin, among others);

- Sending SMS with code to the customer;

- In beer coolers, through touch screens, the customer validates the four-digit code and the first four digits of the CPF;

- Fits the cup according to the chosen volume in the dispenser;

- Starts filling (opening of the solenoid valve and control of the tap and collar at the end of the filling);

- Take the drink.

[032] To repurchase using residual value from previous purchases, or if already registered:

- insert CPF and password (if lost, send to cell phone or email);

- give the option to make a purchase to complement the value and the option to 'generate ticket' without a new purchase;

- if new purchase, insert card;

- generate ticket obeying the same process of previous purchases.

[033] The operating logic of the machine operated by the present system includes an infrastructure to carry out the previous purchase of the drink. This purchase can be made in a kiosk (totem) or via an application installed on the consumer's smartphone or tablet.

[034] The kiosk / totem is composed of an electronic system where the user performs a personal registration and then buys the desired quantity of drinks (mL), or can buy credits to be used in the future.

9/18 [035] Payment can be made in coins, banknotes, credit card or other form of payment using third party systems (Pagseguro, Paypal, bitcoin, etc.).

[036] After making the payment or proof of credits, the user can receive a ticket with a printed code (if he has paid in a kiosk / totem) or receive only the numeric code that is associated with the number of drinks that the user is entitled, if he made the payment via smartphone.

[037] With the ticket, or only with the code generated by the smartphone application, the user can go to the machine that serves the drink to request the drink that he is entitled to, or that his credits can acquire.

[038] To release the drink, the user must bring the ticket closer to the barcode reader or enter data through the machine interface (touch screen and / or keyboard). In case of not having the ticket or the numeric code, the user must inform his identification, this identification can be a unique code for each user or a combination of personal data such as CPF, date of birth, etc.

[039] Once the code has been validated or the user has been identified, he will be able to choose the drink. The machine must then act on the control of a system that automatically releases a glass and the selected drink quantity. This system can be formed by a pneumatic valve, or an electronic valve, or an electromechanical actuator that releases the amount of drink equivalent to the amount that the user has chosen.

[040] The machine then starts to release drink into the glass. A sensor is used to detect the level of drink in the glass. One embodiment may be through the use of a load cell, among other means.

[041] After releasing the drink that the user requested, the machine debits the same user account, since the ticket code is directly linked to the account of the user who made the purchase. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [043] The “AUTOMATED IMPROVED BEVERAGE DISPENSING SYSTEM AT POINTS OF SALES”, object of this patent application, comprises a beverage marketing system, in which the form of acquisition can be in a module ( 1) where the drink is dispensed, this module (1) being operated from a kiosk / totem (2) or via an application installed on the consumer's smartphone or tablet (S1), which generates a ticket (3), card or any means with recorded code (3A) for withdrawing the drink in the mentioned module (1) for dispensing drinks, either in the predetermined quantity or in future purchases.

[044] The beverage dispensing module (1) consists of a prismatic geometric structure (4), on the front of which there is a display (5), a display (6), cup feeders (7) (C1), a support table (8), control panel (9) and a tray (10), on which is placed the plate (11) with serving system.

[047] The invention includes a differentiated and intelligent cup feeding system (C1), in which a fixing base (27) is present in the module (1), by means of fixation, being that, from this base (27) orthogonally projects the feeder (29) itself with “ears” (30) for attachment to the cup holder (14), while on the opposite part of this component is a servo motor (31) that operates next to a rack (32), acting together the selector door (33) opens and closes.

[048] The scale filling system (25) with load cell (26) has a base plate (34), above which is the base (36) that works fitted in the previous one and receives a grid (37), between the load cell (26), said grid (37) is topped by at least three sub-cups (38), with different heights, each receiving an extreme ring (39) of EVA or similar, for fitting the cup (C1). In the approximately central part of the set, an anti-fall support (41) is positioned, which has a sinuous contour to prevent the glasses from falling (C1) during filling.

[049] Each sub-cup (38) has the receiving surface (40) of the cup (C1), provided with an inclination for the dosage of the drink through the angle of the cup (C1) in the correct position with the simultaneous measurement of the volume of filling by weight, this performed according to the load cell (26) positioned on the plate (34).

[052] The system of the invention also comprises, as previously stated, a kiosk / totem (2) with structure (2 ') that comprises a prismatic base (42), in the lower part of which is housed an internal CPU (not shown) , being supported on feet (43) and subsequently having an access door (44) to the internal components; in the middle part a base (45) for keyboard (46) and card machine (47) is configured; above these are provided: ticket output (48) with printer (not shown) and a barcode reader (49); on an inclined surface (50) there is an acrylic screen protection, ending superiorly on a table (51) for supporting objects.

[053] Figure 20 shows that the machine internally comprises, at its bottom, the cooler (17) on which the beverage barrel (16) is supported, laterally to which the CO2 container (20) is attached, this communicator by hose means (M1) with the distributor valve (52), from where the hose (M2) moves to the cooler (17) and the hose (M3) reaches the filling spout (21), where the cold drink and carbonated is distributed.

[054] Figure 21 shows the module (1) with emphasis on the beverage barrel (16), the cooler (17) and the CO2 container (20), also showing the connection hoses between them.

[055] Figure 22 shows part of the module (1) where the solenoid (41 ') and the respective inlet (53), said solenoid (41'), connected with the tap (54), are connected from supports (55), whereas a lever (56) with a pivoting arm (57) attaches to the plunger (58) of the tap; said solenoid (41 ') connected to the load cell (26), as previously said.

[056] Figure 19 shows the construction of the machine that integrates the system in the electronic part, being composed of a bi-volt power supply (switching power supply) (59) generating an output voltage of 12 V. [057] Connected to this electronic board there is also a display (5) or touch screen, where the consumer can enter the requested data (CPF, date of birth), as well as select which drink to drink and how much of it drink you want to be served.

[058] Once the consumer entered the correct data and chose the desired drink, the plate processor will send a signal to the power part, responsible for activating the stepper motor to release the glasses (C1). With the cup (C1) positioned in the correct place, the plate starts to weigh the cup (C1) through the signals coming from the load cell (26).

[059] As soon as the weight detected by the load cell (26) indicates that the cup (C1) is actually positioned in the correct place, the processor will act on the valve that controls the release of the drink. The drink is usually stored in a cooler (17) in the machine's internal compartment.
