Abstract
ÓLEO DE BORRA DO CAFÉ COMO AGENTE ESTABILIZANTE refere-se a utilização do óleo extraído da borra de café, um descarte, como aditivo estabilizante de matrizes poliméricas expostas à radiação ionizante. A borra de café em média 11% de óleo. Filmes produzidos com óleo em matriz polimérica mostraram-se homogêneos e estabilizados contra radiação ionizante, na dose de esterilização (25 kGy), quando quando aditivados com o óleo extraído da borra de café na concentração de 0,5% em massa. Ensaios viscosimétricos mostraram uma proteção de aproximadamente 67% da matriz polimérica com o óleo na concentração supra citada. Ensaios mecânicos mostraram que nem a rigidez (Modulo de Elasticidade) e nem a mobilidade (Alongamento na Ruptura) das cadeias foram afetadas pela radiação gama com a adição do óleo extraído da borra de café na sua composição.COFFEE BLAST OIL AS A STABILIZING AGENT refers to the use of oil extracted from coffee grounds, a disposal as a stabilizing additive to polymeric matrices exposed to ionizing radiation. Coffee grounds average 11% oil. Films produced with polymeric matrix oil were homogeneous and stabilized against ionizing radiation at the sterilization dose (25 kGy), when added with the oil extracted from coffee grounds at a concentration of 0.5% by mass. Viscometric tests showed approximately 67% protection of the polymer matrix with oil at the above concentration. Mechanical tests showed that neither the stiffness (Modulus of Elasticity) nor the mobility (Elongation at Break) of the chains were affected by gamma radiation with the addition of the coffee grounds oil in its composition.
