A invenção refere-se a engenharia elétrica e principalmente a métodos e dispositivos para compensação e controle de fator de energia em conversores e inversores e particularmente trata de métodos para compensação de energia reativa em linhas de en'er.gia de estabelecimentos industriais ou consumidores individuais dessa energia, usados para atender as exigências de um sistema de suprimento de energia para consumo de energia reativas. O método reivindicado consiste em prover cada ,alimentador de uma linha de energia 1 de une ponte de conversor de corrente 2 que apresenta no circuito de entrada do lado de linha de energia 1,. pelo menos um capacitor 3 e em passar a corrente de saida da ponte de conversor de corrente 2 através de uma carga que controla a corrente que através deste capacitor 3.
