Abstract
"USO DA VINPOCETINA PARA PREVENIR AS COMPLICAçõES, PARTICULARMENTE AS RELACIONADAS à AUDIçãO, QUE ACOMPANHAM A EPILEPSIA E SEU TRATAMENTO". A presente invenção se relaciona com o uso da vinpocetina e os derivados destes que possam desenvolver-se e que mantenham os mesmos efeitos para o tratamento da epilepsia e suas complicações. Nossos resultados mostram que a vinpocetina inibe todas as alterações nas ondas no período que acompanham a atividade epilética cortical durante os períodos ictal e post-ictal em dois modelos experimentais de epilepsia em vivo, que a vinpocetina também inibe a marcada perda da audição e as mudanças características no EEG que induzem dois agentes convulsivos que diferem em seus mecanismos de ação. Estes achados indicam que a capacidade da vinpocetina como droga antiepiléptica não se vê acompanhada de efeitos secundários adversos.
