Abstract
"ESTRUTURA DE AERONAVE, E, MéTODOS PARA ENCURTAR A DECOLAGEM E O POUSO DE UMA ESTRUTURA DE AERONAVE". Uma estrutura de aeronave STOL tem uma asa de área variável e de atitude variável, além de um aerofólio tradicional. A asa variável tem um ângulo de ataque que varia de 0 a um ângulo predeterminado além do ângulo de estol. A área da asa variável pode ser ajustada de 0% a 100% por meio de um arranjo de genoa de enrolar. A estrutura da aeronave opera durante a decolagem abrindo a asa variável com uma atitude que excede o ângulo de estol, aplicando empuxo à aeronave, de maneira tal que a asa variável gere sustentação de reação e a aeronave atinja uma altitude predeterminada, e alojando a asa variável de maneira tal que o aerofólio tradicional seja a superficie de sustentação primária. Essas etapas são invertidas para o pouso.
