At engine starting speeds, fluid communication between the engine crankcase and a chamber is substantially equal, such that positive pressure pulses from the crankcase air space pass from the chamber through a check valve to the carburetor for injection. At engine operating speeds, communication between crankcase air space and chamber is restricted such that the pressure inside the chamber is below atmospheric pressure, positive pressure pulses are not present inside the chamber and the injection function is automatically disabled.
