Abstract
"APARELHO E MéTODO PARA COMPENSAR A DISPERSãO POR MODO DE POLARIZAçãO QUE OCORRE EM UMA FIBRA óPTICA DE UM SISTEMA DE TRANSMISSãO óPTICO". Método e aparelho para compensar a Dispersão por modo de Polarização de primeira-ordem em um sistema de transmissão óptica. Um aparelho tem um controlador de polarização para transformar componentes de polarização de um sinal óptico conduzido pela fibra óptica em estados de polarização ortogonal, uma linha de tempo de retardo variável entre os estados de polarização e para produzir um sinal óptico de saída que é compensado para PMD na fibra óptica, e uma unidade de realimentação para ajustar o controlador de polarização e a linha de retardo variável para compensar por variações no PMD da fibra óptica, a unidade de realimentação incluindo aparelhos para gerar uma pluralidade de sinais de controle independentes para controlar independentemente atuadores do controlador de polarização e a linha de retardo variável. A invenção assegura uma redução em tempo de resposta dos atuadores e uma redução em complexidade de um algoritmo usado para controlar o aparelho.
