Abstract
"SISTEMA DE VEDAçãO ANULAR DE METAL A METAL". Trata-se de um sistema de vedação anular de metal a metal, para ser utilizado em sistemas de cabeça de poço e que tem muitos outros usos, tem um membro de metal que define uma superfície de vedação interna ou externa anular para a qual se destina a vedação. Um corpo de vedação anular composto de material de metal de alta resistência é posicionado em uma relação concêntrica com a superfície de vedação anular e é suficientemente flexível para poder ser impelido à mola, tipicamente durante a montagem, para a aplicação contínua de uma força de compressão. O corpo de vedação anular define um ou mais sulcos retentores de vedação anular, cada um dos quais dotado de uma inserção de vedação anular de metal doce, com uma porção da mesma exposta para o acoplamento de vedação com a superfície de vedação anular. A característica comprimida à mola do corpo de vedação anular aplica uma força constante para manter a inserção de vedação de metal doce em uma relação de vedação constantemente energizada com a superfície de vedação anular e mantém uma vedação eficaz até mesmo quando ocorrem mudanças dimensionais na superfície de vedação devido às mudanças da temperatura ou da pressão.
