Abstract

"PROCESSO ELETROLìTICO PARA A ABERTURA DE CONCENTRADOS REFRATáRIOS AURìFEROS E RECUPERAçãO SIMULTâNEA DO OURO CONTIDO". FOR OPENING GOLDEN REFRACTORY CONCENTRATES AND SIMULTANEOUS RECOVERY OF THE GOLD CONTAINED". This patent application is an electrolytic process for the treatment of gravitational concentrates containing synthetic sulfides and / or mineral species, said refractory, and elemental gold encapsulated in the matrices of such sulfides, where it occurs in the first instance. , the opening and dissolution of the contained sulphides (pyrite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite), resulting in the formation of sulphate ions and, after electrolysis, the dissolution of gold and its alloy elements with the simultaneous electrorecovery of these elements. surface of the graphite or titanium cathodes. The reaction system (Figure 1) consists of an electrolysis reactor (5), where the electrodes are inserted, namely: one or more graphite and / or titanium anodes (2), two or more graphite or titanium cathodes (1), having a mechanical stirrer (4) responsible for suspending the concentrate in the sodium chloride solution and connected to a direct current source and / or pulse direct current, or rectified pulsed current or asymmetry ( 3) responsible for maintaining the most appropriate levels and current forms. Dissolution of the concentrate sulfides occurs as a result of the reaction of chlorine-derived oxidant species (CIO- and HCIO) from chlorine gas (Cl ~ 2 ~) dissolution, which is generated as a result of chloride ion oxidation (CI ^ - ^) on the surface of the anodes. With the time of electrolysis, gold and its alloying elements are dissolved by the chlorate ions generated by the oxidation of hypochlorite ions, constantly produced by distinct and simultaneous routes. On the other hand, hydrogen (H ~ 2 ~) release and reduction of dissolved metal ions (AuCl ~ 4 ~ -, AgCl ~ 3 ~ ^ 2- ^, Cu ^ + 2 ^) resulting from oxidative processes, their respective elemental states, on the surface of the graphite or titanium cathodes (2), constitute the main stages of the proposed process.
