Abstract
Um segundo mecanismo operacional contata o corpo do resistor e coopera com o mecanismo operacional para desarmar abertos os contatos separáveis em resposta ao corpo do resistor queimar aberto."CIRCUIT SWITCH USING A MECHANISM TO OPEN AN ENERGY CIRCUIT IN RESPONSE TO AN OPEN BURN RESISTOR BODY". A GFCI / AFCI circuit breaker (156) includes a housing (158), breakaway contacts (160), and an operating mechanism (152) for opening and closing breakaway contacts. A first trip mechanism (162) includes a GFCI / AFCI trip circuit (154) having a resistor (164). The resistor is energized in response to a trip condition. The first tripping mechanism cooperates with the operating mechanism for disarming open the breakable contacts in response to the tripping condition. The resistor has a body (166) that burns open in response to a failure of the disconnect contacts to trip open. A second operating mechanism contacts the resistor body and cooperates with the operating mechanism to disarm the detachable contacts open in response to the open burn resistor body.
