Abstract
"CONJUNTO DE TANQUE DE COMBUSTìVEL". Esta invenção provê um conjunto de tanque de combustível de perfil baixo, que tem um módulo de envio de combustível alongado montado horizontalmente no tanque de combustível e independente de um flange, o qual cobre um orifício de acesso ao tanque de combustível único. Um bomba de combustível integrada e um motor associado do módulo ditam o comprimento do módulo. O motor e a bomba têm um eixo de rotação disposto, preferencialmente, de forma substancialmente horizontal no tanque de combustível. Devido ao fato do módulo de envio de combustível ser suportado pela carcaça ou pelo fundo do tanque de combustível, independente do flange, o orifício de acesso pode estar localizado em qualquer lugar no tanque combustível, de modo a simplificar o ingresso no tanque combustível e minimizar procedimentos de reparos. This invention provides a low profile fuel tank assembly having an elongated fuel delivery module mounted horizontally on the fuel tank and independent of a flange, which covers a single fuel tank access hole. An integrated fuel pump and associated module engine dictate the length of the module. The engine and pump have a rotation axis preferably substantially horizontally arranged in the fuel tank. Because the fuel delivery module is supported by the fuel tank housing or bottom, independent of the flange, the access hole can be located anywhere on the fuel tank to simplify fuel tank entry and minimize repair procedures. During assembly, the module is inserted into the fuel tank through the access hole, and is then seated locked preferably in a support structure permanently seated on an internal surface of the fuel tank.
