Abstract

"COMPOSIçãO DE REVESTIMENTO à BASE DE áGUA COM RETICULAçãO DE CARBAMATO-MELAMINA, MéTODO DE PREPARAçãO DA MESMA, E PELìCULA CURADA DA MESMA". A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição de revestimento à base de água curável utilizada em sistemas de revestimento transportados por água. A composição de revestimento é o produto da reação de um copolímero à base de água preparado por polimerização por radicais livres, e um agente de reticulação. O copolímero é o produto da reação de um primeiro bloco e um segundo bloco. O primeiro bloco é o produto da reação de um primeiro monómero etilenicamente insaturado, ácido acrílico, e um segundo monómero etilenicamente insaturado, metacrilato de metila, bem como o produto da reação de um monómero de hidrocarboneto vinil aromático, difeniletileno. O segundo bloco é o produto da reação de uma pluralidade de monómeros etilenicamente insaturados, estireno, metacrilato de 2-etilhexila, metacrilato de ciclohexila e metacrilato de glicidila modificado com carbonato incluindo um grupo funcional carbonato que é subseq³entemente convertido em um grupo funcional carbamato por hidróxido de amónio. The present invention relates to a curable water-based coating composition used in water-borne coating systems. The coating composition is the reaction product of a water-based copolymer prepared by free radical polymerization and a crosslinking agent. The copolymer is the reaction product of a first block and a second block. The first block is the reaction product of a first ethylenically unsaturated monomer, acrylic acid, and a second ethylenically unsaturated monomer, methyl methacrylate, as well as the reaction product of a diphenylethylene aromatic vinyl hydrocarbon monomer. The second block is the reaction product of a plurality of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, styrene, 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate, cyclohexyl methacrylate and carbonate modified glycidyl methacrylate including a carbonate functional group which is subsequently converted to a hydroxide carbamate functional group Ammonium The crosslinking agent, preferably a melamine, reacts with the carbamate functional group to establish a coating composition having urethane crosslinking of the carbamate melamine reaction.
