Abstract

"PEPTìDEOS ANTIMICROBIANOS DE NOVISPIRIN". Peptídeos de novispirin são agentes antimicrobianos com potente atividade contra bactérias gram-negativas. Os peptídeos são não hemolíticos, exibem reduzida citotoxicidade in vitro em relação a outros peptídeo antimicrobianos, e forma bem tolerado in vivo depois de injeção intravenosa. Novispirin também liga lipopolissacarídeo (LPS), uma propriedade que pode aliviar sintomas associados com infecção bacteriana por gram-negativos. Novispirin peptides are antimicrobial agents with potent activity against gram-negative bacteria. The peptides are nonhemolytic, exhibit reduced in vitro cytotoxicity relative to other antimicrobial peptides, and are well tolerated in vivo after intravenous injection. Novispirin also binds lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a property that can alleviate symptoms associated with gram-negative bacterial infection. A pharmaceutical composition comprising novispirin as an active agent is administered to a patient suffering or predisposed to a microbial infection, particularly gram-negative bacterial infections.
