A presente invenção refere-se a um fio de multifilamentos formado pelo menos em parte a partir de filamentos que têm formatos em S ou formatos em Z na seção transversal. Os fios têm preferencialmente um denier por filamento na faixa de aproximadamente 0,1 a aproximadamente 4,0.
