Abstract
This is a modular solar cell, composed of solar cell (1), spacer (2), electrical contacts (3) and sealing material (4). Such cells will be used to convert solar energy into electrical energy, for use in various applications such as electro-electronic equipment, lighting, power supply and others. The invention enables the combination of the properties of unitary solar cells (1) resulting in the obtaining of panels (12) with application-specific characteristics. Due to the electrical contacts (3) on the sides of their substrates (5), the unitary solar cells (1) have the ability to be conveniently combined into modules in a versatile composition. (12) solar with various characteristics such as larger dimensions, varied geometries and diverse aesthetic effects. unitary solar cells (1) are independent and physically separable. The absence of metallic contacts on the internal surfaces of its substrates prevents the corrosive action of the other device components, thus resulting in greater stability. This design also applies to the combination of devices such as current-sensed photoelectrochemical solar cells, sensors, electrochromic windows, other photovoltaic cells, and any molecular devices.
