"MéTODO PARA A PREPARAçãO DE 5-CIANOFTALIDA". Um método de preparação de 5-cianoftalida compreendendo o tratamento de um composto da fórmula (IV) onde X é O ou S; R^ 1^ - R^ 2^ são cada qual independentemente selecionados a partir do hidrogênio e C~ 1-6~-alquila ou R^ 1^ e R^ 2^ juntos formam uma cadeia de C~ 2-5~-alquileno por meio da qual forma um anelespiro; R^ 3^ é selecionado a partir do hidrogênio e C~ 1-6~-alquila, R^ 4^ é selecionado a partir do hidrogênio, C~ 1-6~-alquila, um grupo carboxi ou um grupo precursor do mesmo, ou R^ 3^ e R^ 4^ juntos formam uma cadeia C~ 2-5~-alquileno que por meio desta formam um anel-espiro; com um agente desidratante ou alternativamente onde X é S, clivagem térmica do anel tiozolino ou tratamento com um radical iniciador, tais como, peróxido ou com luz, para formar 5-cianoftalida, o qual é um importante intermediário usado na preparação da droga antidepressiva citalopram."METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF 5-CYANOPHTALIDE". A method of preparing 5-cyanophthalide comprising treating a compound of formula (IV) where X is O or S; R ^ 1 ^ - R ^ 2 ^ are each independently selected from hydrogen and C ~ 1-6 ~ alkyl or R ^ 1 ^ and R ^ 2 ^ together form a C ~ 2-5 ~ alkylene chain through which it forms an anelespiro; R ^ 3 ^ is selected from hydrogen and C ~ 1-6 ~ -alkyl, R ^ 4 ^ is selected from hydrogen, C ~ 1-6 ~ -alkyl, a carboxy group or a precursor group thereof, or R ^ 3 ^ and R ^ 4 ^ together form a C ~ 2-5 ~ alkylene chain which thereby form a spiro ring; with a dehydrating agent or alternatively where X is S, thermal cleavage of the thiozoline ring or treatment with an initiator radical, such as peroxide or with light, to form 5-cyanophthalide, which is an important intermediate used in the preparation of the antidepressant drug citalopram .
