A invenção provê um processo de conversão de hidrocarboneto para converter olefinas em hidrocarbonetos de cadeia mais longa, o processo utilizando um sistema catalisador incluindo um metal de transição não-níquel derivado de catalisador e um ou mais líquidos iónicos em uma temperatura de reação entre 10 <198>C e 130 <198>C e uma pressão de reação de até 100 Bar.
