Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "GENE DERIVADO DE LAWSONIA E PROTEìNAS, PEPTìDEOS E POLIPEPTìDEOS SodC RELACIONADOS E SEUS USOS". A presente invenção refere-se geralmente a composições terapêuticas para o tratamento e/ou profilaxia de condições de doença intestinal em animais e pássaros causados ou exacerbados por Lawsonía intracellularis ou similar ou de outro modo microorganismos relacionados. Em particular, a presente invenção fornece um novo gene derivado de Lawsonia intracellularis que codifica um peptídeo, polipeptídeo ou proteína de SodC imunogênico que é particularmente útil como um antígeno em preparação de vacina para conferir imunidade humoral contra Lawsonia intracellularis e patógenos relacionados em hospedeiros animais. A presente invenção é também direcionada a métodos para o tratamento e/ou profilaxia de tais condições de doença intestinal e para agentes e procedimentos diagnósticos para detectar a Lawsonia intracellularis ou similar ou microorganismos de outro modo relacionados.Invention Patent: "LAWSONIA DERIVED GENE AND RELATED SodC PROTEINS, PEPTIDES AND POLYPEPTIMES AND THEIR USES". In particular, the present invention provides a new gene derived from Lawsonia intracellularis that encodes an immunogenic SodC peptide, polypeptide or protein that is particularly useful as an antigen in vaccine preparation to confer humoral immunity against Lawsonia intracellularis and related pathogens in animal hosts. The present invention is also directed to methods for the treatment and / or prophylaxis of such conditions of intestinal disease and to diagnostic agents and procedures for detecting Lawsonia intracellularis or similar or otherwise related microorganisms.
