Abstract
"EQUIPAMENTO E MéTODO PARA PAGING (ALERTAR)". Um equipamento e um método para paging (alertar) um terminal de usuário (UT) usando um sistema de comunicações por satélites possuindo um gateway e um ou mais satélites, em que cada satélite produz uma pluralidade (n) de feixes e cada feixe inclui uma pluralidade de canais. O método da presente invenção inclui a etapa de relembrar uma primeira localização do terminal de usuário, em que a primeira localização corresponde a uma localização do terminal de usuário em um primeiro tempo t~ 1~. Em uma modalidade, isto é conseguido efetuando-se uma consulta a uma tabela ou banco de dados que inclui informação de localização para terminais de usuário em diferentes pontos no tempo. O método inclui também a etapa de determinar um primeiro grupo (g~ 1~) de feixes que cobre a primeira localização do terminal de usuário em um segundo tempo t~ 2~, em que g~ 1~ < n e o tempo t~ 2~ ocorre mais tarde no tempo que o tempo t~ 1~. Um alerta (page) é a seguir enviado a partir do gateway para o terminal de usuário através de um canal, tal como um canal de paging, de pelo menos um feixe do primeiro grupo de feixes. Em uma modalidade, o alerta é enviado através do canal de paging de cada um dentre o primeiro grupo de feixes.
