Abstract

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The problem is solved with a screw cap, representing a plastic or metal cylindrical body, on the inner surface of which there is a thread. The lower end of the cylindrical body is a locking ring, and there are perforated grooves between it and the thread ensuring easy removal of the cap as it is unscrewed from the bottle. A sealing element is mounted at the bottom of the cylindrical body.

The sealing element is a cork disk which is mounted tightly into a socket formed at the bottom of the cap by means of a concentric retaining ring projected inwards into the volume of the cap. Inserting the cork disc into a metal or plastic cylindrical body is mechanical, without the need to use specialized machines for tight crimping.

The advantage of a screw cap with a cork disk is that it has a simplified construction. The cork disk is a highly elastic material and it does not have the potential to break the sealing layer by screwing the cap on the bottle, which guarantees the quality of the sealed cylinders, which is especially important in the food industry. Cork as a material is completely thermally stable and this type of seal can be used in all areas of the food industry. In addition, this material is natural and absolutely safe in contact with food. Using it ensures that no change in the organoleptic characteristics of the product in the bottle will follow over time.
