Abstract

This pepper variety is suitable for medium, early and late field production. Its fruits contain two to three times more beta carotene (provitamin A) than the standard types. The stem is strong, with two to three first class branches. The fruit hang, are from 12 to 16 cm long, have a mean weight of 75 g, and a form of double-wall fleshy variety. Their colouring in technical maturity is green, while in botanical - orange. The mutant brand of pepper for medium, early and late field production - "Orange Fleshy Variety" - is created by the method of experimental mutagenesis, through radiation of dry seeds from the brand "Pazardzhik Fleshy Variety 794" with 120 Gy H-rays, and a selection in M3.The plants are between 55 and 75 cm high, with a strong stem. The variety is suitable for consumption in fresh and processed condition. In terms of productivity, it is comparable to the standard, while its fruits contain two to three times more beta carotene (provitamin A), which makes it especially suitable for the tin industry, in the production of foods with a higher content of Vitamin A.
