Abstract

The method and device are used in the food industry and agriculture for foodstuffs freezing /fruits, vegetables, semi-manufactured goods, seafood products etc. They intensify the heat-exchange between the product and the cooling medium, the quality of the frozen product is improved and the irreversible losses are diminished, due to the reduced overall dimensions of the device. The method includes the freezing of foodstuffs in loose weight through the active impact of continuously rotating jet flows of the liquid cooling medium over them in the entire working volume through maintenance of a larger temperature difference. The liquid cooling medium is a water solution with components creating a surface antidifusion effect. The device consists of two parallel thermally insulated cylinders (5 and 25), in which inlet and outlet conveyor worms(6 and 23) with synchronized drives are respectively mounted. Both cylinders represent connected vessels having at their upper ends a feed bin and an unloading bunker (10 and 17). The liquid cooling agent is sucked by a pump from a collecting tub (45) and fed already cooled into the cylinders (5 and 25). The cooling agentis cooled in a cooler (37), which can be either placed outside or built in the cylinders by switching it onto a refrigerating machine.<IMAGE>
