Abstract

The mechanically-operated gate for hydraulic works is suitable for stemming low-head canals conveying liquids contaminated with physical or chemical impurities. The design of the gate guarantees tight closing regardless of the presence of physical impurities, as well as an appropriate alignment of the flap with the driving element in the closing. The gate consists of a driving element (1) with a cone-shaped opening along its axis, which accommodates the cone-shaped flap (2) in the closed position. The latter is connected to the driving screw (6) via a system of hinged closing (4), driving (5) and limiting (9) levers. Closing or opening the gate is initiated by turning the drive screw in the respective direction.
