Abstract
This method finds application in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. It offers the possibility for the efficient purification of highly active, finely dispersed hydroxides. Filtration at a deposition rate of 0.5 to 45 kg/m<2> per hour is carried out by this method, followed by precipitous washing in three consecutive stages using a washing fluid, whose temperature is 8-25 degrees C during the first stage, 30-45 degrees C during the second stage, and 45-65 degrees C during the third stage. The washing fluid flushes the precipitate at the rate of 0.5x10<-5> m/s to 8.5x10<-5> m/s during the washing operation with the pH value throughout the last rinsing stage kept 0.2-0.8 pH units above the isoelectric point of the respective hydroxide.
