Abstract

The refractory plaster composition is an application for insulating and protecting the lining of heat thermal engineering equipment, metallurgical installations and more particularly for the middle shovels of the machines for continuous casting of steel. It features heat insulating properties, suitability for pouring high quality steels, simplified production, increased life-span, good plasticity and adhesiveness; it can be applied both on cold and hot refractory linings. The composition is on the base of magnesite clinker, swollen pearlite, refractory clay and olivinite and the composition contains in %: dextrin 1 - 3 - dry sodium silicate 2 - 4, magnesite clinker 50 - 80, expanded perlite 6 - 8, refractory clay 10 - 15, water 25 - 30 in respect to the quantity of basic mass and if necessary - olivinite 1 - 35. The grain size of the components in mm is as follows: magnesite clinker - 0.001-3.0, dextrin 0.001-2.0, dry sodium silicate 0,001-3,0, swallen pearlite -0.001-3.0, refractory clay 0.001-1.0 and olivinite 0.001-3.0.
