Abstract

A phthalic acid monoester composition containing propylene glycol, phthalic anhydride, aromatic solvent, stabilizing additive, and antioxidant in the following amounts (weight parts): phthalic anhydride from 37 to 80, propylene glycol from 17 to 50, aromatic solvent from 0.04 to 4.0, stabilizing additive from 3.0 to 9.0, antioxidant from 0.01 to 0.1. In accordance with the utility model the propylene glycol is a 1,2-propyleneglycol or bio-propylene glycol, the stabilizing additive is demineralized water, the phthalic anhydride is liquid or crystalline, the anti-oxidant has been chosen from the phenyl-phosphate group, and the aromatic solvent is a xylene or o-xylene. The phthalic acid monoester in accordance with the utility model is kept in a liquid state for 20 to 40 days at a temperature from 15oC to 55oC. The utility model is intended for use in the production of orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resins, which could be applied in the production of fiberglass articles to be used in sanitary ware and boat-building industries. As specified in the utility model, the composition enables deliveries to the end user and storage in liquid state, which results in energy resources economy due to both the monoester liquid state and the lower temperatures it needs for storage.
