HYDROGEN PRESSURE REDUCER
Hydrogen pressure reducer, which is used to reduce (reduce) pressure from a stand-alone high-pressure hydrogen vessel to a certain value, as well as to regulate this value within certain limits when supplying fuel cells and devices using hydrogen.
A hydrogen pressure reducer [1] is known, consisting of a cylinder-piston group, a spring and a valve, in which, to reduce the effect of the change in inlet pressure on the outlet pressure, the outlet pressure is supplied under the valve stem via a balancing channel, and a radial sealing element comprising an auxiliary part is used to separate the inlet and outlet pressure.
A disadvantage of such a pressure reducer is the need for a high-pressure radial separator between the moving parts, as well as the potential for mixing the inlet and outlet pressure.
A hydrogen pressure reducer [2] is known, containing one or more cylinder-piston groups, in which one or more radial seals in the form of a corrugated sleeve and static seals to the piston and cylinder are used.
The disadvantage of such a pressure reducer is the effect that the change in inlet pressure has on the outlet pressure.
The objective of the invention is to provide a pressure reducer for hydrogen, which does not require radial sealing between the moving parts of the inlet (high) pressure, as well as reducing the influence of strongly changing inlet pressure on the outlet pressure, provided the ability to adjust outlet pressure.
The problem is solved with a pressure reducer for hydrogen, which consists of cylinder-piston groups, springs, valves and adjusting screw. of the inlet pressure, acting as a piston and a valve seat, and the cylinder is connected to a primary reduced pressure chamber in which there is a second valve. The piston of another spring-loaded cylinder-piston group has an opening connecting the primary reduced pressure chamber to the outlet pressure chamber, the piston of which is a smooth cylinder and acts as a seat on the second valve, and on the other front of the piston there is a regulating the outlet pressure spring with adjusting screw, counteracting the spring of the cylinder-piston group.
The advantages of such a hydrogen pressure reducer are the absence of the need for radial sealing between the moving parts of the inlet (high) pressure, with a reduced influence of the changing inlet pressure on the outlet pressure and the possibility of adjusting the outlet pressure.
11.An exemplary embodiment of such a hydrogen pressure reducer is shown in FIG. 1. It consists of series-connected housings 2, 7 and a cap 10. In the housings 2 and 7, the cylinders of cylinder-piston groups are formed. Pistons 4 and 8 and springs 3 and 9 are mounted in the cylinders. A cylinder is formed in the piston 4, in which a valve 5 and a nozzle 1 are located, acting as a piston and a valve seat. Thus, a chamber A for inlet (high) pressure is formed in the nozzle 1. The cylinder in the piston 4 and part of the housing 7 form a chamber B for primary reduced pressure. The front of the smooth stem of a piston 8 from another cylinder-piston group is used for a valve seat 6, and an opening in the piston connected to a cavity in the cap 10 forms a chamber C for secondary reduced outlet pressure. On the other end of the piston 8 is a spring 11, counteracting the spring 9 and connected to the screw regulating the outlet pressure 12. The action of the hydrogen pressure reducer is as follows: The inlet pressure is supplied to chamber A through a nozzle 1. Part of this pressure, through valve 5 and openings in piston 4 and valve 6, enters chamber B and when this pressure causes an axial force on piston 4 greater than the force of spring 3, the piston moves and through valve 5 closes chamber A (the connection is broken between chambers A and B). Thus, a certain (primary reduced) pressure is maintained in chamber B, depending on the force created by the spring 3 and the force with which the inlet pressure acts on the valve 5. Part of the pressure in chamber B through a hole in the piston 8 enters chamber C. When the secondary reduced pressure in chamber C creates an axial force on the piston 8 greater than the resultant force of its opposing springs 9 and 11, the piston 8 moves and closes chamber B through valve 6 (the connection between chambers B and C is interrupted). As the pressure in chamber C decreases, the connection between chambers B and C is renewed. The change in inlet pressure causes a variable axial force on valve 5 or piston 4, and affects the primary reduced pressure in chamber B, which does not cause axial forces on the piston rod 8. Thus the outlet pressure in chamber C does not depend on changes in inlet pressure . The outlet pressure is regulated by means of an adjusting screw 12 acting on a spring 11.
