Abstract
The self-tightening chuck is designed for fixing machine tools with cylindrical tails and finds application in machines for boring and other similar operations. The chuck guarantees improved radial accuracy of fixing the machine tools. It comprises a body (1) to which axially a cylindrical bushing (2) is axially resting by means of balls connected by means of a fixed threaded connection to a conical bushing (4). In the latter tightening jaws (10) are found fitted in a separator (5) and connected by screw (8) fitted along the axis of body (1). The tightening jaws (10) are made in the form of unilateral or bilateral wedges at the end of which there are grooves (9) and are fitted in slots (11) in the head of screw (8). Separator (5) is fitted radially along the cylindrical surface (6) to body (1) of the chuck, and conical bushing (4) is fitted along the conical surface (7) to separator (5).
