Abstract

The electromagnetic manipulator finds application in performing different repair and emergency operation in subwater conditions for stabilizing the grip of the objects and for positioning the place of the operating subject. The manipulator is a specialized instrument for easy and safe gripping of parts, objects and their shifting by hand under the conditions of partial weightlessness in subwater medium, regardless of their shape and any accumulated deposits, thus enabling the stable positioning of the subject operating in the water, ensuring his safety to a maximum. The manipulator comprises individual electromagnetic modules (1) connected to a supply unit (12) by a storage battery or to supply electric unit of a lighter class of ship. It is in the form of a glove in the fingers of which the electromagnetic modules (1) are fitted. The supply unit (12) is fitted to the diving suite apparatus by means of a ferritic magnet. The basic electromagnetic modules have solenoid form, the first electromagnet (2) being fitted under the palm of the hand, and the second electromagnet (3) - on the upper part of the palm. The auxiliary electromagnets have elliptic shape and are fitted to the lower side of the fingers of the hand by incorporated outer insulation (10), being in compliance with the anatomic features of the fingers of the hand. Between each of the electromagnetic modules (1), in the insulation coating, metallic cylindrical reinforcement parts (7) are fitted.
