Abstract

The method can be used in the petrochemical industrt6. It improves the operational and ecological characteristics of the fuel mixture. By the method, to the diesel fuel esters of the fatty acids with lower alcohols are added, producing the re-esterification of vegetable oils with lower alcohols, in the presence of a catalyst of alkali metal hydroxide, after which the produced esters are purified. To the diesel fuel with sulphur content under 0.3 wt. %, esters of the fatty acids with lower alcohols from 5 to 40 wt. % are added without agitation, heated to 30-50 degrees C. The re-esterification of the vegetable oil is made with lower monovalent alcohol from 20 to 30 vol. % at 50-70 degrees C at atmospheric pressure, in the presence of a catalyst of alkali metal hydroxide from 0.6 to 0.9 wt. %. The use of refined sunflower oil is preferable, and a mixture of freshly refined and used vegetable oil can also be used in ratio up to 1:1. 7 claims
