Abstract

The replaceable cartridge is used for the treatment of waterfor jugs for residential filtering. It includes a cup-like tank(21) containing a water treatment agent (26A) and is assembledwith a replaceable water impermeable membrane (35A, 36A) coveringits open end and has an outlet groove (24A) at the bottom. Thetank (21A) has a spiral slot (37) machined in its narrowed section(38) close to its periphery, and a peripheral flange (19A) in thelower end of section (38). Membranes (35A & 36A) are assembled instorage in a way as to preserve the moisture in the watertreatment agent containined in tank (21A). When the cartridge isto be installed, membranes (35A & 36A) are removed and thecartridge is screwed in its respective hole in the base of thebin, flange (19A) forming a water impermeable sealing with thestructure of the bin.4 claims, 5 figures
