Abstract

The canal is used in the medical practice and in otheractivities where the penetration of different instruments isrequired in a medium which is vulnerable under the mechanicaleffect and/or having no clearly formed restrictive walls. Canal(1) consists of multiple longitudinal strips (2) connected tolateral connections which allow the slipping of the strips towardseach other. The movement of the canal is made by sharp blows alongthe length of a single individual strip (2) where it slides at aspecific distance from its adjacent strips (2), and the remainingstrips (2) remain connected, fixed to each other, after which eachof the remaining strips (2) is subjected to such blows. The cycleis multiply repeated until the canal moves to a specifiedposition.
