Abstract

The multilayer bandage is used in the treatment of skin lesions caused by chemical and/or thermal agents. It consists of an inner layer of non-adherent, physiologically inert polymer fiber tissue in contact with the wound surface. In some cases, the fiber is modified with a silicone polymer. The dressing also has a middle layer of highly absorbent material and an outer layer of material the same or different from that of the inner layer. The inner layer that contacts the wound surface is a polyester or polysiloxane-modified polyamide mesh modified with an antimicrobial agent. The middle layer is cellulose wadding with a basis weight of 100 to 300 g/m2 and a thickness of 0.002-0.005 m, modified with an antimicrobial agent of 0.01 to 0.05 wt.%, and lidocaine hydrochloride in an amount of 0.005 to 0.01 wt.% The outer layer is of the same fabric as the first layer, either cotton gauze or impermeable foil. 1 claim
