Abstract

The moulded or machined male connection piece (A) is inserted into the female housings (b) formed by the juxtaposition of the profiles (B1,B2) to be assembled. The procedure can be used for assembling pieces of woodwork such as the risers and traverses of windows in which case the connection piece is inserted in the angle of the risers and traverses.

Description

 <EMI ID=1.1>

  "Fast and economical process for joining profiles".

Fast and economical process for assembling profiles.

The invention relates to the assembly of profiles, inter alia in the field of carpentry.

In carpentry, for example, the assembly of chassis profiles and doors is most often carried out using the tenon-mortise, fork or trunnion process. The manufacture of the parts to be assembled requires at least seven operations, such as: debitage, wrought, tennoning, routing, gluing, cleaning, sanding. The use of diversified equipment such as wrenching machine, tenoning machine, router, framing machine, frame sander and many manipulations.

The present invention, applied in carpentry, reduces the number of operations on two machines to four: a profiling planer and an assembly milling machine. The assembly of the profiled parts is carried out by the insertion of a male part (A) comprising dovetail grooves (a) (if the parts to be assembled are wood) or of equivalent shape for other materials , in the female grooves (b) uncovered

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

The male part, once inserted, gives more rigidity and non-deformability than the processes in use. In addition, the male part can be molded or machined into a shape which guarantees a long-lasting seal.

The sketch on page (4) gives an example of application of the invention. Here, in carpentry, we have the assembly of two wooden chassis profiles (assembled at 90 [deg.]).

The advantages of the process are the reduction of the investment in machines, the reduction of the manufacturing time of all the parts, the simplicity of the assembly and the reduction of the assembly time, consequently savings in time and labor cost. The product can be transported in the least cumbersome way, that is to say in spare parts, and assembled on site.
