Abstract

The cold frame, for use in horticulture, consists of a frame base and hinged lid which are assembled from hollow square-section aluminium rods and hold sheets of polycarbonate. The rods are joined together by plastics connecting elements with two to four branches in planes at right angles to one another, with the branches pushed into the ends of the rods to hold them firmly in place. The frame is easily assembled, using only a soft hammer to join the rods.
