Abstract
The arrangement is intended for monitoring the tension in a pile yarn between the bobbin frame and a weaving loom. The yarn passes through two yarn guides and a detector is arranged between them such that the yarn follows a V-shaped path including a pre-determined angle. The yarn contact region of the detector is pressure-sensitive such that a signal is produced when compression exceeds a pre-determined limit due to excessive yarn tension. The signal stops the loom via a delay circuit to prevent unnecessary response to momentary tension fluctuations above the pre-determined level.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
bijnen pooldraad.
(fig. I en 2) De detektor wordt zodanig geplaatst, dat de pooldraden tussen de draadgeleiders A en B een V-vorm beschrijven.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
(fig.

DESCRIPTION OF AN INVENTION PATENT in the name of
Marcel Van Ginderachter for: a system to control the tensile stress of the pile threads on looms.
Introduction: With some looms it is necessary to check the pile threads for the tensile stress.
At the back of the loom is a rack lined up with thousands of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
polar pole thread.
During weaving, these pile threads are fed to the fabric, where they are interwoven by the loom.
If the pile thread tension is too high, the loom must be stopped automatically within a certain period of time.
The detection system consists in checking the pole wire tensile stresses that are too high at a specific location.
Setup: the detection system is placed between the rack and the loom.
We place two wire guides A and B between which a detector DT is arranged. (Fig. I and 2) The detector is placed such that the pole wires between the wire guides A and B describe a V-shape.
Features of the DT detector:
The detector DT contains a pressure-sensitive surface.
When the pressure-sensitive surface is pressed at a certain location, this detector will switch, provided that the depression exceeds a set value.
At the place where the pole wire touches the detector, a sufficiently wear-resistant material has been applied.
The wear-resistant material can also be replaced by placing a blade on each pole wire that touches the detector.
Operation of the detection system:
In normal operation, the pole wires have a low tensile stress. This tensile stress exerts a force F.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the place where the pole wire touches the detector DT. (Fig. I and 2) The magnitude of the force F depends on the tensile stress and the angle of the pile thread.
In figure I a pole wire with normal tensile tension is represented. Due to the chosen resistivity FW of the detector, the indentation at normal pole wire drawing tension, caused by the force F, will be too little to cause the detector to switch.
EMI3.1
te When the pole wire for the detection system gets caught somewhere, the supply to the tissue is stopped. This will increase the tensile stress of the pile thread.
By increasing the tensile stress, the pressure F on the detector DT increases. (Fig. 2) The increased pressure F overcomes the resistivity FW of the detector DT. This will depress the detector surface. If the indentation exceeds a certain preset value S2, this detector will switch. This allows the loom to be stopped in time and damage to the fabric is avoided.
A timer ensures that the detector DT must continue to switch for a while before the loom is stopped, in order to avoid that a brief increase in the pole thread tension would cause the loom to stop unnecessarily. ** WARNING ** End of DESC field may contain beginning of CLMS field **.
