Abstract

The adaptor comprises a sleeve, one end of which receives a threaded reinforcing rod and the other end of which receives a threaded plug. When the first stage of a concrete structure has been cast and the shuttering removed, the plug is exposed inside its surrounding cover. - Upon removal of the plug, another reinforcing rod can be screwed into the sleeve, allowing successive stages to be cast. The arrangement improves the sealing and resistance to shear stresses between two successive stages of a cast concrete structure.(0/3)
