Oe

European patent application No. 150 describes the compounds of formula 1 as well as some of their pharmacological properties, such as their antihypertensive action resulting from the drop in blood pressure exerted in the rat according to the Grollman method.
It also describes the increase in zoronary blood flow and the dilation of the coronary vessels caused by the compounds in cats. These compounds can therefore be used in the treatment of coronary insufficiency.
Belgian Patent No. 886. 259 indicates that the compounds of formula 1 inhibit, on isolated coronary arteries of the dog, calcium-induced contractions and that they can be used as spasmolytic agents, in particular for the treatment of colon spasms.
This Belgian patent also indicates that the compounds increase the cerebral blood flow as appears from the microsphere method carried out in the anesthetized cat and from the improvement of the postischemic recovery in the isolated head of the rat after administration of the compounds in the carotid. These compounds can therefore be used for the treatment of cerebrovascular insufficiency, cerebrovascular accidents, cerebral angiospasms and cerebrovascular attacks.
The Applicants have now found that the compounds of formula I. in particular the estermethylic acid4- (2,1,3-benzoxadiazole-

This effort is considered positive, if the fall in FEV1 is greater than 20% 5 minutes and / or 15 minutes after the effort.
If the initial exercise is insufficient, a second exercise of 100 to watts is practiced for 6 minutes.
If there is a significant fall in FEV1 15 minutes after exercise and after measurement, a bronchodilator is administered to accelerate the recovery of patients (2 inhalations of aerosol aerosol).
Only patients with a decrease in FEV1 are at least 20% of the residual value 5 and / or 15 mit, utss after exercise.

In graph 1 (25 mg of compound C) the protective activity is established until approximately 6 minutes after exercise. On graph II (50 mg of compound C) the protective activity is established from the first minute following the exercise and on. graph III this protective activity is established immediately.
The compounds of formula I can therefore be used in therapy for the treatment of asthma, in particular for the treatment of exercise-induced asthma.
The present invention therefore relates to a medicament for the treatment of asthma and containing, as active principle, a compound of formula I.
The compounds can be administered to treat asthma already present, i.e. for acute therapeutic treatment, or to prevent the onset of asthma, i.e. for the therapeutic treatment of interval.
A suitable daily dose is between about 75 and 4 mg mg, preferably between 75 and 300 mg for interval therapeutic treatment.
Especially for interval therapeutic treatment, the daily dose can be administered in the form of divided doses, for example 3 times a day in the form of unit doses each containing between approximately 25 and approximately 150 mg or compound in combination with a diluent or vehicle pharmaceutically acceptable. For acute therapeutic treatment, the unit dose may contain, for example, from about 25 to about 150 mg of the compound anm) nlstr ('in combination with n diluent or solid or liquid carrier acceptable from a pharmaceutical point of view.
The compounds of formula I can be administered alone or in the form of pharmaceutical compositions. Oe
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
such compositions, which also form part of the invention, advantageously contain more than 1% by weight of compound of formula I. they can be prepared according to the usual methods and are presented, for example, in the form of capsules, tablets, suspensions, suppositories or under for.-. are intended for parenteral administration.
Diluents or pharmaceutical carriers suitable for solid forms for oral administration include, for example, polyethylene glycol, la. polyvinylpyrrol-idone, mannitol and lactose, granulating and disintegrating agents such as starch and alginic acid, binders such as starch and gelatin and lubricants such as magnesium stearate, l stearic acid and talc. The suspensions contain suitable preservatives such as ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, suspending agents such as methylcellulose, wetting agents such as lecithin and polyoxyethylene sorbitan mono-oleate, in order to provide good pharmaceutical preparation pleasant on the palate.
All the techniques used for the formulation of suitable pharmaceutical compositions are known.
More particularly, the compositions of the present invention contain the -------------------- compounds of formula 1 as defined above, with the condition that if one of R and R4 represents a methoxy group
