The present invention relates to an electric drying rack provided with a pair of electrically insulating lateral elements and having holes in which are fixed several metal tubes housing an electrically insulated heating wire.
In known electric drying easels of this type, the metal tubes have a jacket which, by engaging on the lateral elements, communicates stability to the easel; these metal tubes are coated with a plastic material, so that the bridge is protected against any leakage caused by touch, in case of deterioration of the insulation of the heating wire.
However, the shirt and the plastic coating make these easels rather. complicated and therefore expensive to manufacture; the electrically insulating plastic coating is liable to rupture as a result of the action of heat leading to a loss of insulation security and the heat distribution is far from satisfactory.
EMI1.1
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks of known electric drying easels and this object is achieved by means of the electric drying easel according to the invention, which is characterized in that the holes in the lateral elements, on the side facing the opposite side element, sor surrounded by tubular projections which are in solid connection with the side elements and which support two by two a larger metal tube surrounding a metal tube housing a heating wire.
It can be seen that the jacket and the insulating plastic coating on the metal tubes housing the wire are eliminated, which gives rise to simpler and less costly manufacture.
The plastic coating liable to break is replaced by an essentially imperishable tube and the heat distribution of! tubes is good because they are metallic and have a large diameter in comparison to the holes of the side elements. The electrical insulation of the metal tubes housing the wire is dieter. undermined by tubular projections which prevent leakage current in the event of deterioration of the electrical insulation of the heating wire and the larger metal tubes surrounding the tubular projections provide excellent stability to the drying rack.

The invention is described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows part of a known drying rack in section; and FIG. 2L likewise represents part of an exemplary embodiment of the electric drying easel according to the invention.
The known electric drying easel shown in FIG. L comprises lateral elements 21 (only part of a single lateral element is visible) provided with holes 22. Threaded tubes 1-1. 'Covered with a jacket 12' and of a plastic coating 13 'are fixed in the holes by means of nuts 24.
An insulated electric heating wire 31 is laid in the tube 11 '. If this wire must lose its insulation due to deterioration, the plastic coating 13 ′ of the tube 11 ′ maintains contact free of risks with the bridge.
The electric drying easel according to the invention, represented in FIG. 2, comprises, in the same way as the chavalet of FIG. 1, a pair of lateral elements 21 provided with
EMI2.1
holes 22. Threaded tubes 11 pass through the holes and are tightened by means of nuts 24, and an electric heating wire 31 is located in the tubes 11.
The tubes 11 differ from the tubes 11 'in that they have no jacket or plastic coating, but also have the same diameter.
The holes 22 of the side elements 21 are surrounded by tubular projections 23 which are in solid connection with the side elements. These projections are surrounded by larger metal tubes 41 which are typically five in number, each tube extending between a pair of tubular projections 23 opposite one another. The metal tubes 41 can be made of electrically oxidized aluminum. The tubes 41 give the bridge mechanical stability and are essentially imperishable.
The tubular projections 23 protect against leakage current and leakage voltage. In the event of deterioration of the electrical insulation of the electric heating wire 31, the metal tubes 41 can be touched in a risk-free manner.

Outside the side element, an insulating wall (not shown) is located on either side of the easel.
The easel according to the invention is simple to manufacture and results in a good distribution of heat and air circulation, and the clothes hanging on the easel for drying do not slip easily.
An easel according to the invention provided with five tubes of 60 cm each and whose consumption is 70 W can be manufactured without a thermostat increasing the cost.
