Abstract

The snow-plough comprises a shovel at the front end which directs snow onto a conveyor belt. On reaching the rear end of the conveyor, the snow is displaced by a prong and falls into a chamber at the back of the vehicle. Gas burners positioned beneath the chamber melt the snow and evaporate it, so that it can be discharged as steam through a vent. The snow-plough ensures that the snow is dispersed away from the road or runway so that refreezing cannot occur.
