Abstract
A radio telephone operating in simplex mode has a static recorder attached which stores a message of up to 16 seconds in length. The squelch circuit or a selective call tone filter provide the recording control signal. The storage is provided by a dynamic RAM and the signal recorded is limited to 3 kHz by a low pass filter. A delta modulation coding circuit provides a binary output signal for the RAM. At the end of the recording the transmitter decides whether or not the message is to be transmitted. Before transmission a period is allowed for insertion of a call code. For reproduction the stored information is read and converted into an analogue signal by a delta modulation decoder. An active filter eliminates frequencies above 3kHz.
